About Restylane® SILK
Restylane SILK is an injectable wrinkle filler that is effective at reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the face. Approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Restylane’s main ingredient is a synthetic hyaluronic acid (HA) that replenishes the body’s natural supply of HA to improve the hydration and elasticity of the skin. Dr. Aisha Baron, a board-certified plastic surgeon near Atlanta, GA, believes Restylane is best at restoring missing volume to the facial lines around the nose and the mouth, diminishing nasolabial folds and marionette lines, and reducing unwanted jowls for 6-12 months. Dr. Baron prefers using Restylane in these areas because it is a contained filler and does not spread once it is injected into the skin, which makes it ideal for treating lines with greater precision than that of other injectable wrinkle fillers.
Best Candidates
Restylane injections are wonderful if you still have great skin elasticity, but want to slow the impact of aging by filling in the fine lines, wrinkles, and gaunt areas on the face. A great candidate for Restylane has the following:
- Moderate fine lines and wrinkles
- Moderate to severe skin folds
- Good overall health
- At least 21 years old
- Good skin elasticity
What To Expect
The results following a Restylane treatment are usually seen right away and last for 6-12 months. Immediately after your Restylane treatment, you may have swelling and redness for a few hours. You may return to your normal activities after treatment, but we advise avoiding vigorous activities for 24 hours. We also encourage you to not put any pressure on the area and to keep your head elevated for optimal healing while the Restylane settles into its final position.
Other Considerations
A treatment of Restylane usually lasts about 30 minutes in our office. During that time, your face will be cleaned and the doctor will mark the injection sites. If you are worried about any soreness or pain during your treatment, a numbing cream can be applied before the injections. Restylane is delivered with an ultra-fine syringe so that the mixture can slowly enter the skin and the doctor can carefully contour the face to meet your goals.
Turn Back Time
Dr. Aisha Baron has years of experience using Restylane SILK to help her Atlanta patients look and feel more youthful, but still natural. For more information on Restylane treatments, contact our office in Marietta, GA to schedule a consultation and in some cases, we may be able to perform the treatment on the same day.
